Deeney To Arsenal – Walsall Set For Windfall?

Many newspapers are this morning linking former Walsall striker Troy Deeney with a £20m move to Arsenal which could give Walsall a surprise windfall.

The Saddlers are rumoured to have had around a 20% sell on clause when the striker moved to the Hornets in 2010 however that percentage has decreased in the past few years, but the Saddlers should still have a decent windfall when Watford finally sell their frontman.

With Watford gaining promotion to the Premier League, Walsall picked up around £150,000 as part of the deal which took the striker to the Hornets in August 2010.

Deeney has scored eighty four goals in two hundred and twenty four appearances for the Hornets.

If Deeney does indeed move to Arsenal then the Saddlers could be set for a windfall between £1.5m-£2.5m as part of the deal.
