Walsall continue to offer their talented youngsters longer term deals as Paul Downing became the latest player to pledge his long term future to the club.
Downing has penned a new deal that will keep him at the club until the end of next season – Summer of 2015.
With his original contract due to expire this summer, the Walsall manager moved fast to secure a player that I believe will generate a six figure sum in the next few years.
Downing joined Walsall from West Brom in the summer of 2012 and the young centre half has formed a formidable partnership with Andy Butler.
