Earlier in the week Saddlers goalkeeper Neil Etheridge was offered a three year contract in a bid by the club to keep the Phillipines stopper at the Banks’s.

Etheridge was widely believed to be heading to newly promoted Sheffield United, but reports in Wales Online suggest he could be on his way to Neil Warnock’s Cardiff City.

The Saddlers will likely be looking for a new number 1 goalkeeper after releasing Craig MacGillivray this week and the probable departure of Etheridge. Liam Roberts has been offered a new contract after a prosperous loan spell at National League side Chester City
