Walsall have signed Adam Chambers from Leyton Orient on an initial 1 year deal, after a week of anticipation.

Rumours have been flying all week and now the deal is done ahead of the Scotland trip on Monday.

Midfield commander Chambers,30, has been at Leyton Orient since 2006, making 174 appearances and scoring 9 goals.

He signed a 1 year contract in June last year at Brisbane Road with a further 1 year option, but Chambers chose a move to the Banks’s under former assistant manager Dean Smith. He joins ex team mate Ryan Jarvis who signed a week ago.

‘I know him very well both as a player and a person. He is a great professional who will give us energy and a touch of quality.’ Smith told the official site.

Chambers added: ‘I’ve known Dean for many years and as soon as he expressed an interest in me, this is where I wanted to be. I worked with him at Leyton Orient, so I know what he’s about and I am excited by his plans here.’

Another good signing from Dean Smith. Can’t wait for pre-season to get underway!

Up The Saddlers!
