Former Coventry City and Bristol Rovers midfielder Zain Westbrooke is training with Walsall.

Westbrooke was a graduate through Brentford youth academy in 2015 and was made captain of the Brentford B team. He was named player of the year in 2016/17 for scoring six goals in thirty-eight appearances.

In 2018 he joined Coventry City and was named one of the divisions most creative midfielders, assisting to eight goals as Coventry gained promotion to the Championship as champions.

He then made a move to Bristol Rovers for a fee believed to be £200,000. Despite his performances the side were relegated to League 2 and he was deemed surplus to requirements and joined Stevenage on loan last season.

He was released by Bristol Rovers during the January transfer window.

During 2020/21 season Westbrooke was involved in twenty-one key contributions which was the 6th highest in the football league.
