Former Walsall duo Jon Guthrie and James Wilson are reportedly training with League 1 newcomers Ipswich Town according to sources close to the club.
Ipswich Town boss Paul Lambert is on the lookout for experience at the heart of his defence as he continues to run his eye over Guthrie and Wilson.
Guthrie was released by the Saddlers at the end of last season following our relegation to League 2. Guthrie has been part of a Crewe and Walsall defence that has conceded over one hundred and fifty goals in his past four seasons.
Wilson, on the other hand, is looking for a new club after falling out of favour at Lincoln City last season.
Wilson played nineteen times for the Saddlers in the 2017/18 season after arriving on a season-long loan from Sheffield United however the towering centre half was recalled by Sheffield United in January and the very next day joined Lincoln City on a two-year deal.
