Macclesfield Town
Forget WBA`s great escape this could be the real thing. Many thought Paul Ince was a fool to take over the reigns at Moss road, but if they went down everyone would have said he didn`t stand a chance. If they stay up he should be crowned manger of the season. My pre season prediction read as “This could be Macclesfields closes flirtation with relegation, it may well go to a last day game against Notts County at Moss Road.” but I didn`t for see the drama.

In fact in there 2-0 defeat at Bescot they looked better than some of the other teams we had played. A sequence of results until the 21st of November left them winless. Then Walsall came along and we became there first victims in the FA Cup, after that a further five wins and a draw have pushed the Silkmen off the bottom and a visit to Chelsea to look forward too in the New Year. A visit to bottom club Torquay on Saturday is crucial to keep them moving forward, the next two games Lincoln and Chelsea look like defeats. It is hoped for there sakes a heavy defeat at Stamford bridge won`t shatter the confidence they have built up.
Of course there is the prospect Mr Ince will be putting his boots back on in January too.
I believe that the Silkmen will stay up.
