Mick Halsall has warned that Walsall will not produce talent on a ‘conveyer belt.’
The 47-year-old resigned from his Head of Youth position to move to neighbours Wolves.
He was revealed that we have targets to produce a batch of talented players to bring on so we can sell in the future, which Halsall did not agree with.
Mick told the Express and Star: “There`s going to be a stumbling block somewhere and a lot of the time that comes down to the scouting, the recruitment structure.There isn`t a conveyer belt of four or five every year, you have to be realistic.
“I think they`ll be one or two breaking through but not the masses we`ve seen in the past.”
The fact that Mick left yesterday suggests his lack of faith he had left at the club where he has been at since 1998.
He pointed out that a lack of investment in scouting would ultimately be costly, with Bonser insisting to let Paul Taylor watch videos of players instead – the cheap option.
A loyal coach with an eye to nuture players, such as Matty Fryatt and Scott Dann, he will be missed at the club.
