Speaking to the Express and Star, Walsall’s own Richard Taundry has spoken of his delight at Dean Smith signing a new contract and conceeded that he was one of the main factors of him resigning his own contract in the summer…
“I had a call from Richard (O`Kelly) and he asked me to come in and I sat down with him and the gaffer and we sorted a few things out.
“I won`t go into it all but a few things have changed and I`ve had to take it from there. It has been worth it, seeing the football we`ve played and where the club is going.” said Taundry
Taundry added ‘It`s a really good place to be and that`s down to the manager.”
Taundry has reclaimed his place in the side following Ben Purkiss’s below par performances, although once James Chambers is fit Taundry will be battling it out with Purkiss for a place on the bench.
