Saddlers boss Chris Hutchings is still not contented with the 5 new signings already on board, and wants at least one more player, ideally in defence.
The team are stepping up their pre season training, with a behind closed doors friendly being played against Barnsley on Saturday.
Hutchings told the Express and Star:'”We`re looking for a left-back or right-back, so we do cover ourselves and one who can play centre back at a push if needs be. We`re just trying to cover all angles.’
Hutchings is trying to avenge the 10th place finish achieved last season, so defence over a striker is his top priority.
He added: ‘”We let quite a few go and have got a few in. There`s a big turnaround but it`s something which needed to be done.’
The current squad looks like this:
Goalkeepers:
Brain, Bevan
Strikers:
Deeney, Byfield, Nicholls, Grigg,
Midfielders:
Richards, Taundry, Jones, Gray, Marshall, Geddes
Defenders:
Smith, Westlake, Lancashire, Lescott, McDonald
