Hutchings: We are looking for 2 or 3 players

Chris Hutchings has said that the funds available from the Troy Deeney sale is going to bring in 2 or 3 players.

Hutchings told BBC West Midlands: ‘ ‘We are looking at whether we buy or loan, but yes we do have money and hopefully we can bring two or three players in.’

Walsall have not paid a transfer fee for a player in nearly five years, but the boss has said this is all to change.

He continued: ‘The money that we got for Troy makes that a lot easier for us to do….I think we got some very, very good money for (him).’

Hutchings added that any deal is far from done, despite saying negotiations and enquiries have been taking place since the Troy Deeney merry go round began.

He concluded: ”Now it’s happened, it depends whether people want to sell players. We can always target them, but if they don’t want to sell them, it’s a different thing.’
