Manager Chris Hutchings has said that he is pleased with his team’s performance despite losing 1-0 to Huddersfield.

The gaffer tried out a new formation of 5-4-1-, and he says that he is happy with the way things turned out. The Saddlers have now plunged to the bottom of league one.

He told the official site: ‘It was a speculative goal that won it in the end and that was disappointing as I felt we were pretty disciplined in what we did and looked comfortable when we changed our system.’

He admitted that they have a hill to climb before the visit of Peterborough on Tuesday, added: ‘(We)need to find that bit of spark and good fortune. You make your own luck in this game and we have to roll our sleeves up and be ready to go again.’

Hutchings comments are disappointing with the way he seems happy with the performance despite the defeat, knowing full well how important picking up three points are to the supporters. There are only so many excuses a manager can make for a loss but he has a talent in finding new ones every week. We now look ahead to Tuesday’s match against the Posh.
