A major development on the freehold of the Banks’s Stadium seems to have taken place with the club confirming at the Working Party Meeting that they have requested to the landlord to go through the ACV process (asset of community value).
Further on CEO Stefan Gamble confirmed that the landlord has written to the council with notice of his intention to dispose of the freehold!
The intention of the landlord selling the freehold has to take place before the club can purchase it however these two developments seem to be a major shift towards the club finally owning our own ground.
These things are commercially sensitive and we probably won’t hear much more until the deal is closer but the fact the club stated it’s “a complex situation but we are moving along with it and are hopeful his can be achieved at some point in the future” gives us all a sense of positivity that things might happen sooner rather than later.
