Jule In The Crown. Saddlers Sign Macclesfield Defender

|

Walsall have today completed the signing of Macclesfield Town defender Zak Jules for an undisclosed fee.

Jules’ performances last season alerted a number of Championship and League One clubs, but Walsall have moved quickly to agree a deal to sign the Scotland Under-21 international.

Jules has represented Scotland at Under 17, Under 18, Under 19, Under 20 and Under 21 level.

He represented the under-17 team and was selected by Scot Gemmill in the Scotland squad for the 2014 UEFA European Under-17 Championship in Malta. He went on to win caps at under-18 and under-19 level, before going on to make his Under-21 debut in a 2–0 defeat to Iceland on 5th October 2016.

He was selected in the Scotland squad for the 2017 Toulon Tournament in France, and played in the group stage games against the Czech Republic and Indonesia

Jules started his career with Reading before moving to Shrewsbury Town and then onto Macclesfield where he became an important figure saving the Silkmen from relegation with many Macclesfield fans saying he was the sole reason they survived.

Jules is a left footed player who can slot into the back three or play at left back.

Everyone at Vital Walsall welcomes Zak to the club.
