Make your mind up time

The time is here to let trialists go, offer a contract or ask them to stay a bit longer.

Hector Sam is the one who has made the biggest impression so far. Although not fully fit or match sharp after last seasons leg break, I would expect he has done enough to be offered a contract it is up to both parties to sort out the details. Hopefully there will be no nasty suprises in Hectors demands.

Adam Proudlock, although the signing of Sam would seem to rule out Adam joining the club, I would not be suprised if the money saved on retaining Gilmartin rather than signing another keeper be used on another signing. However I expect Adam to continue training with us and we will see how it goes.

Nathan Stanton, the defender didn’t figure against Albion sugesting that Richard didn’t think he was the answer to the required extra defensive cover. Also he played for Rochdale in there pre season friendly and by all reports looked comfortable. However it could be that with centre halfs, Westwood, Gerrard, Roper and Dann, right back Pead, Westwood and Wright at a push, also with Fox and now Kris Taylor at left back that the budget maybe used else where.

Tom Taylor, in the games against Halesowen and his five minutes against WBA, has shown nothing that we have not already got in the squad, I can’t see him joining unless he is very very cheap of course.

The squad is taking shape quiet nicely however numbers will always been lower than we would like due to the financial restraints of been in league two. My main concern is a creative midfield player, if we need to break down a stubbon defence who is going to pick out that telliong pass!!!
