Walsall boss Dean Smith has today confirmed, Walsall will unlikely have Jordan Cook and Sam Mantom fit for the start of the season.
Smith is looking into the loan market to bolster his midfield options following the news that Mantom’s medial knee problem is ongoing. It was hoped that Mantom would play some part in our 3-1 friendly win over Leamington Spa.
Cook on the other hand who was stretchered off during the defeat to Torquay, will have a scan on Monday to determine the longevity of his problem.
Smith also confirms that he is meeting an ‘attacking minded’ player tomorrow to thrash out a permanent deal and will make a decision on trialists Danny Webber and Borjan Prieto Ruiz in the coming days.
