Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has tonight applauded Walsall’s style of football and says there is no club in League 1 that plays football like the Saddlers.
Following our 4-1 defeat to Chelsea, Mourinho said ‘In years of cup experience, I haven`t found a team in League One playing the quality of football Walsall tried to play.’
‘I analysed Walsall before. I watched a couple of their matches in League One. I was surprised with the quality of their play.’
‘Walsall are a different team to normal in League One – not so physical, but technically fast. They were very well organised.’
For someone of Mourinho’s stature to praise our club just shows what a superb job Dean Smith is doing.
