The future of the Banks’s Stadium is taking a small step closer as the Walsall board will meet with Walsall councillors tonight.

The Banks’s stadium was put up for sale in March and a new buyer is being sought.

Walsall chairman, Stefan Gamble confirmed the invitation from 60 Walsall councillors from Labour, Conservative and the Liberal Democrats.

The meeting will be chance for Walsall FC and the councillors to discuss the prospect to the council of owning the Banks’ Stadium.

‘This is an unique investment opportunity. The Council would be acquiring an asset which would yield an annual profitable return.’ Gamble told the official site.

The move mirrors the actions of other football league club where the stadium is owned by the council. Gamble is also keen to reiterate that the club are financially stable and securing the landlord of the club has big impact on that.

‘This represents a hugely exciting opportunity to work together to expand current community and educational activities, as well as joint entertainment and recreational initiatives.

‘We hope that Councillors will take a positive view of what we have to say, and will share our enthusiasm for the relationship that can only be beneficial for the town and local community.’ Gamble added.

So we will look forward to the outcome!

In the next few days, hopefully we will find out who have chosen to sign new contracts. We are waiting on the answers from Richards, Gray, Bevan and Ledesma.

Up The Saddlers!
