The game saw Taundry out injured, with Lescott replacing him in midfield. This gave McGivern his place back in the starting lineup.
Walsall have been completely dominated by an attacking and organised Magpies in all areas of the park and have been punished by a Craig Westcarr goal on 8 minutes and Lee Miller on 15 minutes.
