Walsall playmaker Erhun Oztumer has today hinted at his departure from Walsall FC after speaking to Sky Sports News.

Oztumer nicknamed “Turkish Messi” has scored twenty nine goals for the Saddlers in the past two years and has rejected two contract offers from the club (all of his goals last season can be seen here thanks to a video by Saddlers fan Rohan)

Erhun joined the Saddlers from Peterborough in the summer of 2016 and has gone on to be one of the most sought after players outside the Premier League.

Sky Sports understands a few Championship clubs are already monitoring the situation surrounding Ozzy and Oz confirmed that he will sit down with his agent in the summer but described his future as ‘exciting’

Oztumer said ‘Money doesn’t motivate me. For me its playing at the highest ability, playing in front of bigger crowds and being the best you can be’

‘In the summer, I will sit down with my agent and see what the options are, but I am excited about the future’

Oz has come under some criticism since Christmas with many thinking his mind had already been made, however Oztumer has scored five goals since the turn of the year.

Losing Oztumer would be a major blow for Dean Keates but it does give us the option of not playing with just one striker up top from next season, one behind the front man has been very much the go to formation for the past six years.
