Diminutive midfielder Erhun Oztumer, has picked up his second goal of the month award for the season after his sensational strike against Bolton Wanderers on February 4th.

The 40 yard volley put the Saddlers 1-0 up after just 4 minutes, and although Walsall went on to lose 4-1, the strike will stay long in the memory of the supporters who were there to see it.

Of course, this isn’t the first time that Oztumer has picked up this award, earlier in the season he crashed in a 50 yard strike against Swindon Town and subsequently received the October award.

Oztumer spoke to the Official Walsall FC website about receiving the award and his memory of the goal.

“I remember the ball was bouncing around and it came to me. I had no options but to shoot so I just hit it with the outside of my foot on the half-volley and it flew into the top corner.

“I’m just happy to get two awards – hopefully I can make it a hat-trick soon.”

And Oztumer will be travelling to Southend United this weekend hoping to record a first away win of 2017.
