Paul Boertien who signed from Derby last summer has put pen to paper to sign a new deal at the Banks’s stadium. This shows a certain amount of confidence in the remaining players and set at Walsall since Paul has signed not really knowing who is going to be the man in charge.

This good news for Walsall although Paul picked up a few injury knocks during the season which resulted in him sitting out the final run in with a broken toe. One thing that can be guarenteed is the boy has ability looking a much better player than under 21 international Dan Fox, it is speculated that the fact that Foxy was been kept out of the left back berth, was a major factor in him not signing a new contract and hence paved the way for his sale to Coventry.

So with the right footed Richard Taudry as an able back up this should be an area of the team the new manager won’t have to worry about, and another centre half and the defence is in place for next season.
