Premiership clubs eye Fryatt bid

I remember in 1998 saying to someone – watch out for this kid, he’s scored 40 goals in the youth team this season. That kid was Matty Fryatt.

Since then, he has been and gone in the Saddlers first team and now plys his trade in the Championship with Leicester City, where he has also become something of a legend.

However, with five days remaining on the tranfer window, clubs in the Premier League have been alerted to his goal-scoring potential, as he notched up 27 goals last season.

The only real named club is Hull City, but there are rumoured to be more clubs forming an orderly queue behind the 23-year-old striker.

What does this have to do with Walsall? Sell-on clauses! If Fryatt was to leave the Walkers, then the Saddlers would get some form of percentage of the transfer, if the reports of his transfer from the west to the east midlands were correct.

Only time will tell, but whatever happens, we wish Matty all the best!
