Dean Smith continues to piece his team together with the addition of Jordan Cook, on loan till the end of the season.

The emerging Sunderland star made his first team debut on Boxing Day after getting experience at Darlington.

The 21 year old is an attacking whipper-snapper midfielder who can also play out wide, making welcome cover for right wing position which has problems over the season.

Dean Smith told the official site: ‘He’s played regularly for Sunderland reserves and has also broken into their first-team this season, so it shows how highly they rate him…The lad can play down the middle or out wide and is full of enthusiasm and pace, something that we need right now.’

He stands in line to make his debut at tomorrow’s big match at MK Dons alongside fellow new loanee Marc Laird.

He sounds a good signing! However, it only adds to a disjointed team where they constantly have to learn and adapt to new players, but improvements are vital as the relegation train is full steam ahead.

Up The Saddlers!
