Saddlers Set For Windfall? Defender Linked With Celtic

|

It wouldn’t be a transfer window without a former Saddlers player being linked with a move which would net the Saddlers a hefty windfall.

This time it’s not Troy Deeney, it’s Rico Henry.

Sources in Scotland suggest Celtic are set to offer Brentford £7m for the Brentford left back to replace Kieran Tierney who looks set to join Arsenal this summer.

Henry who played over fifty games for the Saddlers joined Brentford in 2016 for an initial £1.5m, with the fee rising to £5m with cash add ons which included an England call up and Brentford promotion to the Premier League.

We are unsure what the sell on percentage was but there was one in the deal that took him to Brentford.

Henry has suffered injury problems since he moved to Brentford and has only played thirty-five games for the Bees.

As the transfer deadline window gets closer it will be interesting to see this develop….or won’t develop whatever the case may be.
