As we said yesterday, Walsall were in the hunt for a then unamed striker. Credit to ther other footy site for getting it right.
The 6 foot 2 inch Swedish striker has been unveiled as Par Cederquist, as we said yesterday. He has a tremendous goal scoring record in Norway, of better than a goal every other game, at 0.52 goals per game.

The striker will be joining on a Bosman free transfer, however he will not be able to play until the January window opens. Therefore the first glimspe we will get of him in a Saddlers shirt will be at London Road against Peterborough if selected. He will, however, be joining from next week, so he can train with his new team mates and be ready for action as soon as he is allowed.

Richard Money was obviously please at getting his man, telling the Official Site that he didn`t expect the tall, pacy striker to take long to settle in, due to the similarities between Norwegian and English football. As reported in the summer we had tried to sign the player in the August, but the deal had fallen through for one reason or another. Cederquist went on to hit the net 10 ten times in 11 games for his club in the second half of the Norwegian season.

With the fact that Tommy Wright has hinted he would be willing to look at moving to Bescot as his Barnsley future was uncertain,it could be that we will see some moves out of Bescot as well. James Constable is already out on loan and it would be hard to see DD keeping Cederquist , Butler, Sam and Wright happy whilst Alex Nicholls is also waiting in the wings.
