Walsall have today announced former loanee Romaine Sawyers as their fifth summer signing, on a one year deal with the option of a second.

Sawyers has signed a one year deal today in a busy week for the Saddlers that has seen Craig Westcarr, Milan Lalkvic, Richard O’Donnell and Troy Hewitt arrive at WS1.

Romaine started his career at West Bromwich Albion but struggled to break into the first team and was loaned out to Port Vale and Shrewsbury respectively. Last season he joined Walsall but given the form of Febian Brandy and Jamie Paterson, Romaine struggled to make any impact.

Following his impressive displays during pre season Walsall boss Dean Smith has offered him a deal and will hope his pre season form can continue into the new season.

Romaine has played three times for St Kitts and Nevis and scored one goal.

Everyone at Vital Walsall welcomes Romaine back to WS1 and cant wait to see him back in action!
