Seven more points for Byfield

Striker Darren Byfield declared today that two more wins and a draw in the remaining four games of the season will keep Walsall in league one.

This is certainly within Walsall’s reach but not at all guaranteed.

Byfield told the Express and Star: ‘If we can get two wins and a draw we`re staying up. Seven points would take us to 50, which will probably be enough.’

Looking at last year’s league one table, Gillingham and Hartlepool both had 50 points on the last day, with Gillingham relegated on goal difference.

Byfield added: ‘”It could be settled this weekend. I know there are two games after that but if we can pick up points in the next two games we could be safe by the time we play Charlton next weekend.”

Today Dagenham and Redbridge take on Plymouth

It’s Swindon vs Notts County and Bristol Rovers vs Charlton Athletic tomorrow

On Monday it’s Huddersfield vs Dagehnam and Redbridge, Bournemouth vs Bristol Rovers, Sheffield Wednesday vs Swindon, Plymouth vs MK Dons and Notts County vs Brentford.

All this on top of Walsall’s home clash to Sheffield Wedcnesday tomorrow and away visit to Oldham on Monday.

The striker concluded: ‘We need a win out of the two games that`s a fact ? if we don`t get one then we`ll start getting worried”

Just getting worried, Darren? We all started to get worried around October!

We shall see how all the weekend’s action pans out over the weekend!
