Former Walsall trainee Jamie Tank has been released just two years after Wolves paid £20,000 for him.

In the summer of 2012, Walsall offered Mal Benning, Ben George, Keiron Morris, Aaron Williams and Jamie Tank a professional contract. Everyone bar Tank signed.

Due to the nature of his progression through the Walsall ranks, Wolves were ordered to pay an initial fee of £20,000.

Following the move two years ago, Walsall CEO Stefan Gamble said ‘Following the recent approach, after negotiations, we have accepted what we feel is a good offer for Jamie that includes several performance-based contingent sums triggered by future achievements.’

With the news that Andy Butler is yet to confirm for the new season and with central defensive cover a priority, a move for Jamie Tank wouldnt be out the question.
