Trialist Revealed

|

This week, Walsall reserves played out a 3-2 loss, amongst the line up were valuable minutes for Jules, Hardy and Kory. But to our surprise, there was also a trialist.

In an article by ‘The News’ in Portsmouth (article linked below), they confirmed that Portsmouth are not renewing youngster Josh Flint’s, contract past January.

Kenny Jackett confirmed in an interview that ‘Josh played for Walsall in a trial game this week and is back with us today’ Jackett then explained the decision ‘The decision is based on not breaking into the first-team and first-team group, unfortunately there are not enough spaces’

So it would appear that Flint is seen as surplus to requirements.

We don’t know a great deal about Flint, but what we do know is that he is a midfielder that has only featured for Portsmouth’s first team in the Leasing.com trophy, playing twice, scoring once and gaining one assist.

We as of yet do not know whether he is on an extended trial. The next Reserves fixture will give us more of an indication.
