Walsall Accept Bid From Sunderland For George Dobson

|

Walsall boss Darrell Clarke has tonight confirmed the club have accepted a bid for midfielder George Dobson. That bid is believed to have come from Sunderland.

Walsall boss Darrell Clarke confirmed last week that the club had rejected an initial bid for the former West Ham man but Sunderland have now met our valuation and Dobson will now begin contract negotiations with the Black Cats.

Dobson has not featured for the Saddlers this pre-season and was left out of the squad which travelled to Poland indicating that a second offer was always anticipated.

It will be interesting to see how much the Saddlers will get for the midfielder but history proves the deal will be undisclosed and 60% of it will reportedly go back into the managers budget.

Dobson will become the second player to depart for a fee this summer following the departure of last seasons leading goalscorer Andy Cook to Mansfield for £150,000.
