Dickie has said in the press of his high regard for England under 18’s winger Ishmel ‘ASBO’ Demontagnac. However the bare facts are that despite his appearances last season his role in league two has been restricted to cameo appearances off the bench.

On saturday DD’s choice was to bring in Tony Bedeau and move Mark Wright to the left, leaving ASBO on the bench. Whilst no one can argue with the importance of protecting young talent surely ASBO is going to get frustrated.

Tony Bedeau has a reputation as something of a goalscorer at this level but the facts are he has yet to live up to the billing for the saddlers. In his defence he has suffered an ankle injury and also had his pre season disrupted by injury. Also before he faded out of the game he showed flashes of the ability to beat his man and create chances, so is there more to come from Tony or is this it, perhaps our style doesn’t suit him !!!

Also in the wings is the returning Darren Wrack, proven performer although he will need to show that he has the capability to reproduce the form of yesteryear.

So where does this leave Ishmel, the fans are on his side, they want to see him attacking full backs and whipping in crosses. Yet we all know this comes at a price ASBO can react to been kicked up in the air, and if there is one division in which he will get kicked up in the air it is league two, but he is a reformed character…..isn’t he !! All the signs were there in his brief appearances.

So it may not be ASBO for England but surely it’s time to unlesh the Demon onto league two defenders.
