Walsall Boss Slightly Frustrated By Missing Out On His Target

|

Walsall boss Darrell Clarke says whilst he’s a little frustrated on missing out on his transfer target but insists he and his coaches will get the best out of the players that are at the club.

The Saddlers have signed seventeen players this summer and currently have the highest % of turnover of players in the Football League.

Clarke states he didn’t want to bring in players for the sake of it.

Speaking to Express and Star, Clarke said

“We had the largest turnover in the league and we are not going to lose sleep we did not quite get the last one over the line.”

“I’m pleased with the people we have got in the building. It has an adaptability to it, the right mix of hunger and experience.”

“Now we have to make them better players.”

Clarke does have the option to sign free agents but it seems he is happy with his squad heading into the winter.

“I am working with a 24-man first team squad. We have to settle things down now. We will set about now doing what we are paid to do, which is make players better. We have a good few months until the madhouse starts again.”

Many Saddlers fans believe we are still lacking creativity in the squad but we will only find out for sure over the next few months.

The Saddlers travel to Colchester tomorrow hoping to get back to winning ways.
