Walsall have announced the signing of Martin Brittain on a short term contract, and he goes straight into the squad for tomorrow with the 14 vacated by Mark Wright.

Martin is described as a small player with bags of pace and energy. He was released by Newcastle United in 2006 after making 8 first team appearances having come through there academy. On his release he went to Championship team Ipswich Town but failed to make there first team with an inform Darren Currie keeping him out, so he was allowed to join Yeovil towns promotion push making 12 starts and one sub appearence as they made the play offs. This season he made the move to Carlisle where in august he appeared just twice. He has let to hit a first team goal and has more recently been training and playing in the reserves with Scunthorpe.

Richard Money speaks highly of the 23year old midfielder who he describes as having a good pedigree and upbringing with Newcastle and Ipswich and fits Walsall’s profile perfectly.
