Walsall Striker Joins Nuneaton On Loan

|

Walsall striker Mitch Candlin has this evening joined Nuneaton Borough on a one month loan deal.

Candlin has suffered an inconsistent start to his Walsall career and despite spending last season on loan with Blackburn and with the Saddlers suffering relegation to League 2 he has still been unable to break into the first team here.

Mitch made his first team debut in 2017 coming on as substitute against Bradford City. He scored his first professional goal in a pre-season friendly against Chester City later that year but has been unable to force his way into plans of three managers (Jon Whitney, Dean Keates and Darrell Clarke).

It will be interesting to see how this move goes with former striker Amadou Bakayoko moving to Nuneaton after a faltering start to his career and now plays in League 1 with Coventry City.

Nuneaton Borough are currently managed by former Saddler winger Josh Ginnelly’s relation Jimmy.

Former Walsall midfielder Craig Stanley has also joined Nuneaton this evening.
