Walsall to face Court Battle

Thankfully it is no where as bad as the problems that face our friends at Bournemouth or Luton but it could well mean that a potential finance stream maybe cut off at its prime before it ever gets started. So sources stated that the potential revenue could exceed 1 million per year, a figure not to be sneezed at for a club of our standing.

A battle to put up the biggest advertising signs in Europe alongside the M6 seems destined to end up in the court room.

The Highways Agency has always been against the money-making bid by Walsall Football Club as it fears drivers would be distracted by such huge signs. However I am sure the number of drivers who put two fingers up at Villa Park as they pass is a greater distraction…….perhaps they need to tear the place down!! Also the sign isn’t much bigger than the Fort advert anyway!!

The agency hopes to overturn the decision to give the go-ahead for two 75ft tall V-shaped hoardings outside Walsall`s Banks`s Stadium on a technicality (prats!!!), because of a problem with the approval notice by Walsall Council.

The football club has taken steps to ensure it does not lose out if the planning consent is overturned by the High Court by submitting an identical planning application. So there!!!
