Walsall’s Cederqvist Question

After his cameo performance against Grimsby many fans thought it would be enough to earn Par a starting slot. Although Hectors performance also deemed worthy of a continued run up front. DD had some tough choices to make and today he has spoke about them…

‘Before the game I was thinking ‘we need to throw Par in at some stage’,’ Money said. ‘And I felt today was a good time to have a look at him. He will be better for the experience.’

‘Managers live and die by decisions. I genuinely felt Par did enough in the 30 minutes against Grimsby for us to have a look at him alongside Martin Butler.

‘But in this division people will try to stop us from playing and Par has to understand that’s what it’s like here.’

‘He will learn a lot from that 45 minutes. We will talk about it in the week and have a look at the tape with him individually.’

‘I was in two minds about whether to start with Par or Hector. But you have to be big enough to make changes if things don’t go the right way and Hector came on and we all know how well he links the team up. We live and learn.’

So we will have to wait and see what will happen next saturday but I know a lot of Saddlers fans were dissappointed in Par’s showing. However the service to the front two in the first half wasn’t the best either.

Richard Money has also been quized if the result at Mnasfield will mean more transfer activity at Bescot, in response
he said…
‘We have a good squad and I think we have enough around us to do the job. I believe in them and I trust them and it would take somebody very special to change that situation.’

DD will not accept another bad day at the office. He talked of his disappointment
‘Some key players did not perform as well as they have in recent weeks,’ he said. ‘I’m not going to name them but I spoke to them in the dressing room after the game. Players have to perform and today they were not as good as they have been. We kept getting caught in possession and putting ourselves in trouble.

‘It might be a bit of an eye opener for everybody. Every time we have lost this season we have picked ourselves up and dusted ourselves down and I’m sure we will do the same thing this week.’
