Watford Ready To Sell Troy Deeney

|

Watford are reportedly looking to offload striker Troy Deeney with their asking price at around £10m.

According to The Sun and The Daily Star Stoke City are willing to offer £15m for the former Saddlers man.

Both Everton and Newcastle were linked with a £25m bid for Deeney in 2015 and Leicester were linked in 2017 with a £30m bid for Deeney but that like every other move for Deeney didn’t materialise and the Saddlers have been playing the waiting game to cash in on their former striker since selling him in 2010.

The more recent interest in Deeney came in January this year where neighbours West Bromwich Albion were linked with a move but they opted for Daniel Sturridge instead.

Now we always have this story every window so at present we will take it with a pinch of salt but as Walsall have a 20% sell on clause for their former front man they could be looking at a windfall of around £2m which will hopefully be used to purchase the freehold from under fire chairman Jeff Bonser.

Deeney moved from the Saddlers to Watford in 2010 and has gone on to score 102 goals in 289 appearances.
