We Look At Six Players Walsall Could Still Sign After The Window

|

With the transfer window now shut we look at six potential signings Darrell Clarke could sign on a free transfer to bolster his attacking options.

MATT JARVIS

Jarvis would be most peoples pick to solve our winger issue however the former Norwich and England winger has currently been training with League 1 side Gillingham in order to gain fitness.

Jarvis spent the latter part of last season on loan here but was restricted to just a handful of appearances due to a persistent injury.

Gillingham are still looking to bolster their attacking options themselves and with him residing in the south it would seem unrealistic that he would commute and drop down a league in order to continue his playing career here.

CRAIG CONWAY

Conway is a former Scottish international, previously released by Blackburn Rovers. He does have a link to the Saddlers playing alongside Danny Guthrie whilst at Rovers.

Conway has been training with Bolton Wanderers all summer and it seems now they have sorted their financial issues out he will sign permanently there.

JAMIE WARD

Ward is an interesting suggestion. It is common knowledge that we attempted to bring the winger to the Saddlers in January earlier this year.

Ward was born in Birmingham and has spent most of his career around the West Midlands and East Midlands.

He spent the latter part of last season on loan at Charlton but a chance to return to the Midlands maybe worth a shot?

CALLUM HARRIOTT

A former England youth international was released by Reading at the end of last season.

Harriott had a successful early career at Charlton and on loan at Colchester where he scored six times in twenty appearances for the U’s.

SIMON DAWKINS

How good was Dawkins on Football Manager?

In real life hes had an up and down career. From starting at Spurs he moved to the States to play for San Jose Earthquakes.

He returned to the UK to play for Aston Villa and Derby before moving back to San Jose. Last season he played for Ipswich but was released at the end of the season.

ANDY BARCHAM

Barcham like Dawkins started his career at Spurs. He has gone onto play for Gillingham, Scunthorpe and most recently AFC Wimbledon.

He scored ten goals in League 2 to help Wimbledon gain promotion to League 1 for the first time in their history.

Those are our six picks for potential signings now the window has closed.
