Walsall leading goalscorer, Craig Westcarr today admitted he is disappointed with the clubs policy of offering new deals at the end of the season.

Westcarr has scored 16 goals in all competitions this season and is also top of the assist table, yet his future is in doubt following the delay in the offer a new deal.

Speaking to the Express and Star, Westcarr stated that if a deal had been offered months ago then he would have signed with ease. “I think it`s gone from the point where if someone would have said two or three months ago, ‘here you go` – I would have said yes straight away’

“It`s difficult to think about it, letting someone who has scored 16 goals run all the way to the end of the season.

“As I say, we will see what happens. People have got their own views on it and how certain people work but for me it`s slightly disappointing not to be offered anything.’

When asked if he wanted to stay, Westcarr said ‘Yes of course, we will just have to wait and see’

To lose Westcarr, Taylor and Butler in one summer would be as difficult to replace as Grigg, Paterson and Brandy from last season.
