Many that went to last nights friendly with Aston Villa and those that watched from home will have seen a new addition to the Banks’s Stadium and it certainly got people talking.
When fans requested for the club to sort out the bar in the lower….we didn’t mean this one!
There is now a barrier installed along the wall behind both goals to try and deter fans from jumping on the wall or entering the field of play.
Last season saw (more than normal) fans using the wall to celebrate a goal but mostly pitch encroachment was on the rise. There must have been at least a dozen times fans went onto the field of play last season and the club needed to act.
I am unsure how a small six inch bar can act as a deterrent when there is still big gaps where the gates are but hey ho if it stops us receiving penalties or fines from the EFL then we are all for it.
Fans took to Social Media last night to discuss the new addition (unfortunately many included swear words which we have had to omit).
