August selection problem already

Ian Ropers second yellow card and dismissal for not taking kindly to Barnsleys Tommy Wright’s half nelson has landed Richard Money with a defensive headache for the opening league two match in August.

Roper is now suspended alongside defensive partner Chris Westwood who will have one game of his three match ban to serve following his straight red card against Huddersfield. As it stands this leaves Anthony Gerrard as the sole centre half available. The matter will most likely be resolved by the addition of another centre half, which was already on his shopping list. The move will most likely leave Roper and Westwood on the side lines awaiting for the chance to prove their worth and regain first team shirts.
