Clubs have been gathering around Bescot ready to test our resolve to hang on to our young players. This weekend Cardiffs Dave Jones and Peter Ridsdale were at Bescot to cast an eye over the talent on show.

It is uncertain who they were watching, although reports in Wales have made the sugestion that young player of the year and England under 18 international Ishmel Demontagnac could have been the man.

Other sources suggest that Anthony Gerrard who picked up the player of the season award was been lined up as a long term replacement for the soon to depart Darren Purse.

Moves for either player would involve a fee and each case a period in Cardiff reserves until they were ready for championship football. Hopefully this will deter Cardiffs interest. But the reality of the situation is that we might have to sell one of our future stars to get the cash to reinvest in the team to try and climb back up the leagues.
