Speaking to the Express And Star both Dean Holden and Dean Smith were delighted at the prospect of working together for an additional year.
Holden said “To be offered this dual role is perfect for me. Walsall is such a great environment in which to work and learn.”
Smith said ‘I am really pleased to have secured Dean`s services for at least another year. He is a tremendous character to have around the place and, as was proved at the start of last season. He is also a very able centre back who will provide competition for places.”
Defenders Ben Purkiss and James Chambers are still mulling over their new deals, whilst negotiations are ongoing with Febian Brandy, Will Grigg and Adam Chambers.
