Stephen Roberts has retired from football after admitting defeat to injury.
The 29-year-old Welsh defender, who joined on a free transfer from Doncaster in 2008, has been trying to make a comeback from a long-term back injury.
This makes the extension of Clayton McDonald’s loan deal from Many City the biggest priority, as Hutch looks to replace the centre-back asap.
Roberts made 26 appearances for the club.
