Over the last few days, former Villa and Sheffield Wedensday star Benito Carbone has been linked with a move back to English football, with Walsall said to one of the clubs interested.

The 37-year-old Italian put on an excellent display in the Midlands Masters recently and it has emerged that both Walsall and Oldham are interested in signing him.

What makes the link even stronger is that CH is after an experienced striker after the departures of Michael Ricketts and Jabo Ibehre.

Plus, CH has worked with the Italian striker while he was assistant to Paul Jewell at Bradford City.

Only time will tell if this deal becomes reality in the next few days, as he is available on a free transfer.
