It was a great weekend for both Walsall right backs – Liam Kinsella and Jason Demetriou.

Whilst Kinsella scored his first career goal for his club, Demetriou scored his first career goal for his country against Israel – as his match winner saw Cyprus close the gap to the Euro play-offs with one game remaining.

Not only did Demetriou’s strike give Cyprus a chance of reaching their first ever major tournament, his strike sealed Wales first major tournament appearance since 1958.

Demetriou has been in fine form for the Saddlers this season, already topping the League 1 assists table and whilst its a nice headache to have, Walsall boss Dean Smith will have to decide whether to bring Demetriou back into the side or keep with Kinsella who was exceptional on Saturday.
