Walsall boss Dean Smith felt his side grabbed a deserved victory over Burton and as urged his team to continue their fine start as the Saddlers top the league one table after twelve games.

Smith told saddlers.co.uk, ‘It was a deserved win,”

“We were excellent, in the first half especially. We moved the ball well and looked really organised, which has been key for us this season. It has given us the platform to score goals and keep clean sheets.’

“It`s the sign of a good team when everyone plays well like that – it`s what you need.’

“We`re 12 games in and have only lost one game. We deserve a lot of credit for how we`re playing and the results we`ve had.’

‘We`ve had a lot of publicity for being where we are but we want to be there in May – that`s when the prizes are given out.’

The Saddlers have lost just one game in the league this season and boast the best defensive record in England – conceding just six goals in twelve league matches (a record which mirrors our Graydon years).
