On Friday I spoke with Exeter fan David, in the next of our fan-based interviews ahead of the 2020/21 season. We discussed a lot of different topics about Exeter, and looked into the finer workings of the club.
David and I chatted about the class of 19/20, and his thoughts on the season that was. We also looked at the play-off campaign, and the heartbreak that has become the norm for Exeter fans. It was interesting to hear about the psychological side of things, with the club being in the top 3 for most of the season, to then drop out towards the end.
David spoke a lot about the structure of the club, and we drew comparisons to Walsall. He spoke in-depth at the reshaping of the squad, where they released a lot of players who were excess to the squad, and have tried to focus more on the academy.
We then looked ahead to next season, and his hopes for that. We looked at their chances of being in and around the play-offs again, or whether they can go one further.
