Former Peterborough And Walsall Playmaker Released By Bolton

|

Former Peterborough and Walsall playmaker Erhun Oztumer has today been released from his Bolton Wanderers contract.

Oztumer has endured a nightmare twelve months since signing for the Trotters from the Saddlers in June last year.

He only made ten appearances for Bolton and like most of the Bolton staff hasn’t been paid properly (if at all) for a few months.

Oztumer scored on his debut during our 3-1 victory over AFC Wimbledon in August 2016.

In two seasons with the Saddlers he finished top goalscorer, scoring fifteen goals in his first year and seventeen in his second. He was voted in the PFA team of the year for both seasons.

The man dubbed the Turkish Messi will now be able to sign for a League 1 or a League 2 club possibly on a short term deal before trying to secure his move to a Championship club in January.

It will be interesting to see his next move – possibly a return to Peterborough?
